In addition, according to the International Diabetes Federation, the incidence of diabetes is growing at alarming rates. In 1985 it was estimated that 30 million people had diabetes. By 2025, an estimated 380 million adults in the world will have diabetes – a shocking 12-fold increase in just four decades. Truly, obesity and other metabolic diseases are not just an epidemic, but a pandemic.
